Our Mission

To protect and restore Florida's freshwater ecosystems through community education, citizen science, invasive species removal, mussel conservation, and the development of water filtration technology — for the communities and wildlife that depend on clean water.

Foundation Programs

Five Pillars of Restoration

Every program targets a real, measurable threat to Florida's waterways — and creates a direct path for communities to be part of the solution.

🎓 Education

River Guardian Program

AI-powered fish identification education for students, teachers, and community members. Florida Waterways Guardian app deployed in schools with a bilingual curriculum built around citizen science and native species stewardship.

🐟 Removal

Invasive Fish Removal

Organized removal events targeting bowfin, oscar fish, Mayan cichlids, suckermouth catfish, and other invasive species that threaten native fish populations and aquatic food webs across Florida's freshwater systems.

🐚 Conservation

Freshwater Mussel Conservation

Florida is home to some of the most biodiverse freshwater mussel populations in the world — and some of the most endangered. We support habitat protection, propagation research, and reintroduction efforts.

💧 Technology

Water Filtration Technology

Developing low-cost, field-deployable water filtration and purification systems designed for use in Florida's springs, rivers, and rural waterways where infrastructure is limited.

🌿 Community

Waterway Cleanup

Coordinated shoreline, riverbank, and underwater cleanup events that engage volunteers, collect water quality data, and restore native shoreline habitat through replanting programs.
